Synopsis

Radhe (Salman Khan) is one of the wheels of the mafias, but with a difference. He is a trained street fighter and shooter who is totally fearless. A man who can keep his cool, in a situation where death itself is looking at him in the eye. He is rebellious and loves to defy authority. He cannot think of being in any other position but the leader's, always fighting his way to impossible goals. He works for Ganibhai, the most dreaded Mafioso, but on his own terms.

Mafia Don Ganibhai (Prakash Raj) has a great mind for strategy, which is razor sharp. He stays in a foreign country but comes to India whenever the need arises. He is revered and feared by friends and foes alike. Ganibhai is the worst enemy anyone could wish for. He is vindictive to the point of being sadistic. He will not only destroy his enemy but wipe him off completely.

Radhe is in love with a girl named Jhanvi (Ayesha Takia). They share a strange love hate relationship. Jhanvi tries to change him by imploring him to leave the world of crime, but Radhe, though he loves her, is too hardcore a criminal to adhere to her wishes.

Radhe moves ahead in his criminal world by single handedly eliminating Ganibhai's enemies with his wit, grit and fearless strategy. A time comes when Ganibhai, whom Radhe has never seen arrives in India specially to meet him. He then offers Radhe a job, which Radhe for the first time refuses point blank, in return making Ganibhai his biggest enemy. Then comes the surprise element of the story, a twist that changes the very premise on which the story is based on. A shocking twist that makes Radhe - WANTED by the mafia and by the law.

He was the Aslam of “Tere Naam”, who stood by the character played by Salman Khan through his life. Now, actor Sarfaraz Khan (pictured above) is back in movies this year.

The first film, Prabhu Deva-directed “Wanted”, sees character Aslam take this friendship forward to the next level, as part of Salman’s gang of four.

“It is a very beautiful role,” says Sarfaraz. “I love the shades of the character and it definitely is a step forward from ‘Tere Naam’, a film that I cherish close to my heart. Working with Salman bhai is always a treat.”

Updated from 10 ka Dum BLOG

Monday, June 22, 2009

We were in Greece to shoot a song sequence for Bony Kapoor’s film “Wanted” directed by Prabhu Deva. I used to go for long walks every morning. Once on such a walk, I was pleasantly surprised to find a dog following me and as I walked some more dogs from neighboring localities joined.

I have often observed in India that dogs from different streets are hostile to each other and do not approve of trespassing but this did not happen in Greece. And when I was coming back the dogs bid goodbye to each other and went their separate ways.

I am a dog lover and sometimes I even treat them like human beings. I love dogs. They are very loyal and love you unconditionally. Have you ever noticed that when a dog lover visits a friend who also has dogs, the dogs smell you from a distance and do not hesitate to show their love. The dogs in Greece really baffled me. There was no rivalry among the dogs of different localities and streets. I wonder if cultural trends affect dogs of different nations…We Indians fight against each other. We have long history of wars fought by brothers. Family feuds have damaged clans. I know nothing about Greek history. It could be that certain breeds are friendly and some are ferocious. I only know that they love and express it in their own ways. Each dog is different and can never be replaced but the love and acceptance each new puppy teaches us is amazing….

Salman's Safed Paanch Ka Note!
By DC, 6 July, 2009

Salman's Safed Paanch Ka Note! While Salman is busy entertaining his fans all over the world with his television show 10 Ka Dum, the actor has taken time out to complete recording a song for his forthcoming movie Wanted.

The track titled Safed Paanch Ka Note has been composed by music director duo Sajid-Wajid and will be used to promote the movie.

This is not the first time that Salman has sung for a film. Sallu lent his voice to the song Chandi Ki Daal Par Sone Ka Mor in Hello Brother.

Music director Wajid says, “Salman has always been full of surprises. He is very professional when it comes to work. We are so excited every time we work with him.”

Wanted, says Wajid, is a “prestigious” film. “It is a remake of the South movie Pokhiri but director Prabhu Deva has done equal justice to the original with his Hindi remake. He has made it an out-and-out commercial Hindi film. The subject is brilliant and we had several discussions before we actually set out to work on the film,” he says.

The music directors also had a great time working with Prabhu Deva. “It was a brilliant experience. He knows the nuances of his work very well. Not only is he a good actor but he is also a great technician and a good director. I mean he is so popular in the South,” Wajid gushes.

Sallu-Kat, Saif-Bebo on a date
They watched the promo of Wanted at Sohail Khan's place

Guess what Katrina Kaif, Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan were doing 10 days back? Well, they were on a double date! Well, not really. But the two famous Bollywood couple were watching the promo of Sallu's upcoming film Wanted at brother Sohail Khan's residence.

A source reveals, "Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapur, Sanjay Kapoor, Chunky Pandey and Salim Khan had gathered at Sohail Khan's residence for a function. Boney Kapoor's son Arjun was also present. Arjun gave everyone a surprise by presenting a DVD of the Wanted promo to Sohail. Sohail immediately played the DVD on his home theatre. Everybody applauded the promo and congratulated Salman Khan for his performance.

Wanted is a remake of the Tamil and Telugu film Pokkiri. This film is also Prabhu Deva's directorial venture into Bollywood. The film has been shot at exotic locations in Greece, Bangkok, Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai.

____

For my English Understanding friends, let me explain wht has happen and y i posted the above HISTORICAL LONG POST.

__

Wanted promotional interview was conducted by a news group India Today. This group has 2 news channel. Hindi and English.

Hindi -> Aaj Tak showed a part of the interview and made it some other news. Above post video no.1

English channel -> Headlines today > also shown the part of interview in another way. Video no.3

____

Means they hve cut a part of the interview and shown on tv as 1/2 hour programme. Showed their cheapness.

1st they should not hve asked all those irrelavant questions in wanted interview. 2nd they showed some part of interview and projected as in diff manner.

Ppl watching those clips might get wrong impression. But it never happens. Media can try their fucking best effort to bring this man down ...........

But Salman Khan is still and steady..... like ROCK.

Just for Wanted movie salman bhai didnt said much 2 that reporter.... or she wud hve get the worse of her life :sBo_yay:

WANTED teaser ensures a winner for Salman Khan

Now this is what one calls a true teaser. It reveals a little but still makes you look forward to a lot more. These are pretty much the sentiments in the offering after one has a dekko of the 1 minute teaser of WANTED, Salman Khan's next outing which is all set to hit the screens this Eid.

If these 60 seconds are any indication then this Boney Kapoor production is pretty a superhit movie in the offering. What works most for the film are two major factors - a) Salman Khan and b) 'desi' action that sets the tone for the lovers of hardcore masala action to make a beeline for the film all over again.

‘Love Me’ (Wanted) – Song Preview
IndiaGlitz [Tuesday, August 04, 2009]

It’s all thumping and pumping. In the ‘Love Me’ track of ‘Wanted’ it is really good to see Salman grooving in his old style. Shaking the leg along with him is sassy and cute Ayesha Takia Azmi, who adds to the song’s glamour quotient. The track is laced with few hilarious lyrics and foot-tapping beats, which makes you to hit the dance floor.

It is said that Prabhu Deva usually doesn’t mix his direction with dance choreography. But here he made an exception for Salman Khan and made the actor dance to his steps in this song! Check out this peppy ‘Love Me’ and groove along!

TOP Trade Analyst Komal Nahata on Wanted:

Boney Kapoor’s Wanted, starring Salman Khan and directed by Prabhu Devaa, is poised to shake the box-office on the Friday it is released.

For, the trailer was screened on a trial basis in one cinema each of Indore, Delhi and Calcutta in one show each earlier this week (before the release of Love Aaj Kal) and the response was as extraordinary.

Reports are filtering in from places like Indore and Calcutta that the trailer is being met with thunderous response from the audience. People are whistling and screaming in the halls when the trailer is screened.

Just another pointer to the excitement the trailer of Wanted is building. On the day the trailer became available on the Internet, there were as many as 3 million people who had viewed it on youtube.

In fact, Boney Kapoor, who had asked his Eastern Circuit distributor, Arun Mehra, to specifically tell him about the sound quality and sound effects after running the trailer in cinemas, was told by Mehra that he could not comment on the sound quality and sound effects. And just why? “Because,” remarked Arun Mehra, “the crowd’s noise was so loud that it drowned the sound of the trailer!” This reply must’ve been the sweetest sound to Boney Kapoor who, incidentally, is still waiting to hear about the sound quality and sound effects of his trailer!

Salman Khan, the macho man of bollywood who plays lead in upcoming flick ‘Wanted’, is said to have done such a fabulous job that surpasses even Aamir Khan’s mega hit flick ‘Ghajini’.

The film which is being produced by Boney Kapoor and directed by Prabhu Deva (that dancing sensation from south) is due for release on the eve of Eid festival in September. Sources say that Boney Kapoor is so confident about the flick that he has been talking with distributors for giving more favorable response and terms than they had given to perfectionist genius Aamir Khan’s ‘Ghajini’.

The buzz is that Salman Khan, who plays a hit man in the film, will be seen in a negative role. He essays a character in ‘Wanted’, which is more like a killer than a conventional bollywood hero. Ayesha Takia plays the female lead in the flick.

The insiders reveal that Salman Khan’s six-pack abs look fabulous in the flick and he has performed breathtaking action sequences in the course of essaying his character. A negative streak will be seen in his character for the first time in his bollywood career.

Boney Kapoor is also elated with the fact that the dance numbers by Salman Khan and Ayesha Takia look enchanting in the film. Their on- screen chemistry is electrifying and Prabhu Deva has canned all this in a very convincing manner.

In any case, ‘Wanted Dead and Alive’ is the remake of super hit Tamil flick ‘Pokhiri’, which further makes Boney Kapoor confident of turning the flick into a mega- hit project.

It may be recalled that even Aamir Khan’s ‘Ghajini’ was remake of a Tamil super hit flick of the same name directed by Murugadoss. And perhaps this is one of the reasons; Boney Kapoor wants his flick to generate more business than Aamir’s flick did at the box office.

Salman Khan has given such a fabulous performance in ‘Wanted Dead and Alive’ that Boney Kapoor has already decided to cast him in the sequel of ‘No Entry’. He plans to announce the sequel on the day of release of ‘Wanted Dead and Alive’ in September with Salman Khan-Anil Kapoor playing the lead in it.[/B]

Boney Kapoor “I have received fantastic distribution offers for Wanted and am confident it will fetch a better price than Ghajini, so I’m elated. "

Once Again, We Predict….

August 1, 2009 by TFSJ

As far back as in March (issue dated 29th March 2009), FSJ had, after being invited to see the trailers of the two films, predicted that Kambakkht Ishq and Love Aaj Kal would take flying starts when released.

The trade had later questioned our excitement and wondered whether we were being carried away. “The trailer of Kambakkht Ishq is too vulgar and city-centric,” screamed many in the industry. As for Love Aaj Kal, they felt, Saif Ali Khan could never do it. Of course, we stood our guns. Kambakkht Ishq may not have worked ultimately, but nobody can deny that it opened to excellent houses on 3rd July. Again, this week’s Love Aaj Kal has left the industry speechless with an initial in the multiplexes that can only be described as excellent.

All apprehensions about Saif Ali Khan not being what, in filmi parlance, is referred to as an initial waala hero, have turned out to be meaningless because a solo Saif starrer like Love Aaj Kal has done what not many other films this year could do, in terms of opening. And now for one more which promises to create records on the opening day. Boney Kapoor’s Wanted, starring Salman Khan and directed by Prabhu Devaa, is poised to shake the box-office on the Friday it is released. And no, this time, the prediction is not just based on FSJ’s judgement.

The public also seems to have endorsed our fancy for the trailer of the Salman Khan starrer, included in all the prints of Love Aaj Kal. Reports are filtering in from places like Indore and Calcutta that the trailer is being met with thunderous response from the audience. People are whistling and screaming in the halls when the trailer is screened. And if you think, it’s the effect of Love Aaj Kal, you stand corrected. For, the trailer was screened on a trial basis in one cinema each of Indore, Delhi and Calcutta in one show each earlier this week (before the release of Love Aaj Kal) and the response was as extraordinary.

Just another pointer to the excitement the trailer of Wanted is building. On the day the trailer became available on the Internet, there were as many as 3 million people who had viewed it on youtube.Once Again, We Predict….

The big star has a big heart

He may be known as the bad boy of B-town, but Salman Khan is championing a variety of good causes via a series of public service messages.

Salman has shot as many as 60 public service messages all in the span of a single day, all of them are socially relevant and based on the theme, ‘Wanted’. The messages accompany the release of his forthcoming film of the same name.

A source reveals that, “There were messages like, Wanted: good education, Wanted: children who love their parents; Wanted: people who don’t drink and drive; Wanted: people who treat women with respect among others.”

Sallu has a big heart and has been involved in various charity projects for many years including his Salman Khan Foundation; he just prefers to keep it low-key and let the publicity fall on the causes rather than himself.

Wanted: a big cheer for Salman Khan!

Salman Khan & Kamaal Khan return with WANTED

August 12, 2009 3:36:47 PM IST
Joginder Tuteja, Bollywood Trade News Network

A decade back, Salman Khan and Kamaal Khan made history as they collaborated with 'O O Jaane Jaana' for the film PYAAR KIYA TO DARNA KYA (1998). The song as well as the film was a huge hit and soon Kamaal Khan became a household name.

Now the two Khans are reuniting for the film WANTED that features a song titled 'Ishq Vishq'. Composed by Sajid-Wajid, the song yet again boasts of a catchy tune and though purists may argue that the song doesn't offer anything new, the fact remains that the entire project is designed as a Salman Khan mass entertainer which goes back to old school masala entertainment genre. While Kamaal certainly seems to be enjoying his outing, Salman too is going all out in this song.

CHECK OUT: WANTED teaser ensures a winner for Salman Khan

Says Wajid (of composer duo Sajid-Wajid) about this groovy number, "We wanted a special song for Salman bhai and while creating the tune, we felt that Kamaal Khan's voice would be the best fit for it. He is based out of UK and when we called him for the song, he was game for it. His voice has that zany feel to it and the twang that he gets along suits a number belonging to this genre so well. We are happy that ever since the promo of 'Ishq Vishq' went on air, the feedback has been great."

Well, one indeed believes Wajid when he says that because since the time of 'O O Jaane Jaana', Kamaal Khan has sung quite a few chartbuster tracks for Salman in films like HELLO BROTHER, KAHIN PYAAR NA HO JAAYE, TUMKO NA BHOOL PAAYENGE, TERE NAAM, DIL NE JIS APNA KAHA and MAINE PYAAR KYUN KIYA. Now add WANTED to the list!
