Salman Khan avoids Katrina, not to watch New York!



Mumbai: It’s being said that Bollywood star Salman Khan is avoiding his lady love Katrina Kaif and not interested in watching the flick New York.

Reports say, Salman Khan is quite unhappy with Katrina Kaif. Katrina and Salman managed to assure the world that they are still together after Katrina appeared on the latest episode of Dus Ka Dum, but it seems there are still some misunderstanding between the couple.

In the next coming flick New York, John Abraham has a bedroom scene with Sallu’s lady love Katrina Kaif and Salman is furious see the promos.

In the scene, the two are shown getting quite intimate with each other. At the same time, the music video of the song is already on the net and has become quite a sensation among Bollywood buffs.
While her beau may not exactly be friends with John, Katrina seems pretty comfortable in cozying up to the hunk. And Sallu is not taking all these matter smoothly, sources claim.

Imagine if the Kabir Khan character in ‘Chak De’ was bit tall, with handsome chiselled body and look more like a playboy than a serious looking coach? Doesn’t fit in, right? Well, actually, the impressive role played by King Khan was not the first choice of the movie’s film makers. Initially, it was Sallu who had been approached for that role. But due to differences in the opinion when it came to the movie’s climax there was a change in the choice. Salman Khan wanted the final match in this hockey movie between India and Pakistan team. But the producer, Aditya Chopra, didn’t approve it and cordially took the offer back and later, offered it to Shah Rukh Khan.

But Yashraj Movies didn't lose their hold on the macho man and have roped him in their future project along with Madhavan. The untitled movie will be written and directed by Victor and the hunt for the heroines is still on.

Salman Khan to do Tashan maker’s next for Yash Raj

Salman Khan Though Mumbai tabloid recently reported about Salman being signed up as Aamir’s replacement for a Yash Raj banner film to be directed by Yash Chopra himself. Our sources within Yash Raj however suggest, Aamir’s film with the Yash Raj big daddy is still on and is in the pre-production planning stages. Salman however has been finalized for another project under the banner.
Sources further reveal, “Vijay Krishna Acharya writer of the Dhoom series who made his debut last year with YRF’s Tashan is making his second film with YRF. Salman Khan, R.Madhavan and Bhojpuri superstar Ravi Kishen are the male leads finalized for the same while the female leads are yet to be finalized. The film is supposedly a whacky action comedy that will go on floors in the second half of 2009.”

There had been reports earlier suggesting both Salman and Yash Raj head honcho, Aditya Chopra having problems about working with each other and the hot headed Khan after having been denied entry for his vanity van in the YRF studios compound had vowed never to come back there. A close pal of Salman however tells us, “Salman was the first actor to be approached for Chak De India! But while he loved the script he had suggested changes in the film’s climax. He wanted the final match of the hockey tournament be played between India and Pakistan. He felt that then story would come full circle. But Adi didn’t budge and both parted ways amicably. Shah Rukh Khan was then signed on for the role. But Salman is now looking forward to the YRF project being written and directed by Victor (Acharya).”

The Salman-SRK reality show!

After the great Salman-Shah Rukh fallout, the warring Khans will finally be seen together in a forthcoming reality show. When powerful common Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan More Pics
friends failed to broker peace, will a reality show do the trick?

When Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan fell out during Katrina Kaif’s birthday bash last year, it was an outright war. It put the industry in an uncomfortable position, where people were forced to take sides. Very few managed the tightrope walk and maintained their relationship with both the warring Khans. Now, the possibility that the industry can breathe a sigh of relief is imminent as SRK and Salman will be seen on a reality show together.

The fallout over certain remarks about Salman’s ex-girlfriend, Aishwarya Rai, was very public and it led to the Khans taking potshots at each other at every given opportunity. Recently, Salman said that Shah Rukh used to be nice, but now is he is insecure. In the past, Salman has also claimed that SRK was jealous because his show, Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?, was a flop, while Dus Ka Dum was very popular. Salman also pooh-poohed SRK’s US detention ordeal recently. And these are just a few instances.
Though stars like Rani Mukerji and Farah Khan have tried to play peacemaker between the two proud Khans, finally it may take a reality show where the stars are paid hefty sums to appear on the same platform. The reality show is called Dance Premier League and has participants from different zones battling it out with each other. Stars will cheer their teams and if Salman and SRK’s team clash, of course, both stars will have to come face to face. Though the makers of the show are trying to keep the names of Bollywood participants under wraps, Mirror has learned that SRK and Salman have already been approached to be part of this show.

Danish Khan, VP Marketing, Sony, says, “It’s too early to talk about specific stars. We have approached many actors and are still deciding on the names.” When asked about SRK and Salman specifically, he does not deny their involvement and says, “I can’t comment at this stage. It’s better if you wait for a formal announcement.”

But our source confirms, “SRK and Salman have been approached already. Katrina, Bipasha, Kareena and Prabhudeva will be the other participants in the show.”

Katrina, though, denies it. She says, “I have not been approached for any reality show.”

Though the channel might chooses to be tight-lipped about this new development, we are surely looking forward to the fireworks.

Salman to walk for Anand Jon

The buzz is that the Bollywood macho man will take the ramp as the showstopper for designer Sanjana Jon at the India Fashion Week in Delhi this October. Sanjana’s show, incidentally, has brothers and sisters walking in support of her own beleaguered brother, Anand Jon, who was convicted of 16 charges, including rape and sexual assault, and sentenced to 59 years of imprisonment by the Los Angeles Superior Court lately. And all Sanjana wants, is a fair re-trial for Anand.

The idea of the show came to her just after Anand was convicted. A devastated Sanjana is desperately trying to get the Indian government to take some action and look into the legalities of Anand’s case. Singer Shibani Kashyap has confirmed her support for the show and said, “I have personally known Sanjana and Anand. This seems a sheer case of racism. I feel everyone deserves a fair trial.

So, I shall walk with my brother Abhinav in support of Anand’s cause.” Salman, too, is her friend. But as always, he keeps his charities under wraps.

After Ghajini?s Hindi remake stormed the box-office nation-wide, Bollywood stars are displaying a strong desire to work in remakes of blockbuster South films. The latest on the list is hazel-eyed Hrithik Roshan, who was so impressed by the recent Telugu superhit Magadheera that he?s agreed to star in its Hindi remake.

Sources say that another B?wood biggie, Salman Khan, has been approached to play the powerful role of Muslim emperor Sher Khan which was played by Sri Hari in the Telugu blockbuster. Allu Arvind, who produced the original hit will be producing the Bollywood flick as well. Rajamouli is being considered to direct this one. The rest of the cast and crew is still being worked out.

At the Couture Week, where Karan Johar is launching his clothesline with Shah Rukh as the showstopper and Gauri as the only female model on the ramp, Salman too is displaying his clothesline, Being Human. Here, again, Salman is the showstopper and his girlfriend Katrina Kaif will walk the ramp. A source says, “Salman is very excited about the event and is planning to make it a smashing occasion. His sister Alvira Agnihotri is involved in designing the clothes.”

Looks like Prabhu Deva has got himself drenched in troubles for recommending his close friend Nayanthara in all his upcoming films. If what we heard from sources is believed to be true, then Salman Khan and “Jeyam’ Ravi have strongly refusing pairing up with Nayanthara in the films Prabhu Deva is supposed to direct them.

Followed by grand success of “Wanted’, Salman Khan has shown keen interest over working with Prabhu Deva in another film titled “Most Wanted’. As well, Kalapathy S Agoram of AGS Entertainment has been discussing scripts with Prabhu Deva for a film featuring “Jeyam’ Ravi in lead roles.

Now the latest buzz is that both the actors have strongly expressed their dislike about sharing screen space with Nayanthara. As well, Jeyam Ravi seems to have requested that he’s ready to pair up with any actresses except Nayanthara. Dashed down with his hopes, Prabhu Deva is very much perplexed about the situation as Ravi came up with a open statement that he has got more offers after the success of “Peranmai’ and he needn’t depend on Prabhu Deva.

Battle for ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ in Hindi

The 2003 super hit film ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ which was a major milestone in the career of all the people connected with it – Goutham Menon, Suriya, Jyothika, Jeevan and more – is again making hot news in 2010.

When the movie was released in 2003 it became instantly popular even among the Bollywood bigwigs and they immediately vied to get the Hindi remake rights. Actor –Director Feroz Khan of ‘Qurbani’ and ‘Jaanbaaz’ fame flew down to Chennai and watched the film with the crew, liked it and immediately paid an advance for the Hindi remake rights. Feroz Khan was planning to cast his son Fardeen Khan in the Hindi version. But after Feroz Khan’s death in 2007 there was no news about the remake.
Now there is a buzz saying Vipul Shah and Goutham Menon are trying to buy the rights back from Fardeen Khan. They plan to do the film with John Abraham playing the lead role played meticulously by Suriya in the original.

As things were moving the original Tamil producer Thanu has thrown his hat in the ring. Now Thanu also wants to produce the Hindi version himself using his Bollywood contacts.

According to Thanu, after paying the advance Feroz Khan wanted to cancel the agreement for his own reasons.

Thanu also says he has approached Salman Khan and Deepika Padukone for the main characters and they too have shown genuine interest.

We have to wait and watch what is next in this action packed series.

Salman with Katrina in comedy?

If things work out as planned then we will soon see this hot couple of B-town on screens, churning out some comedy… According to our birdies, director Anil Sharma, the man behind Veer, will next give out a comedy film, featuring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.

It is heard that before staring on mega-budget period film, the director had plans to give a hilarious project. However, after Salman pressed on with ‘Veer’, Anil left behind his plans.

Now that everything is well settled, the director is gearing to bring up the romantic-comedy film. And he seems to be confident that this project will be his one of the best.

We really hope these rumours materialize… After all who wouldn’t want to see this real-life couple on screen…

Katrina Kaif had to wait an entire day before she could perform her act at a recently concluded award function

The actress was scheduled to pre-record her act at Yash Raj Studios on Friday evening while Salman Khan was to shoot his at around 1 am. However, Salman, who's shooting for Dabangg in Wai, landed up in the studio and insisted they record his act first.

Says a source from the studio, "Khan had not rehearsed his act. His costume wasn't even in place, but he was adamant on doing his act before Kat. He shocked everyone. Initially everyone thought he was there to see Kat's act, but he actually wanted to finish his shoot first. He said he wanted to wrap everything in one take. Since the crew wasn't prepared for Salman's act, everything -- from his song, to his clothes and his dancers -- had to be called in."


Katrina was forced to wait until Salman finished. "She was there first and really lost her cool when he barged in and decided to record. There was nothing she could do, except wait. Past midnight, she decided to call it a wrap and shoot the following day after the event."

However, there was another problem after the award function concluded. Shahid Kapoor who performed live, thought his act wasn't up to the mark and wanted the crew to re-shoot his performance. "Kat was again asked to wait as Shahid re-shot his act. He tested her patience further by taking too long to finish up."


Sources confirm that Katrina finally recorded her act at 6 am on Sunday morning and left fuming that she had to wait not just because of Salman but Shahid as well.

Bollywood's dare-devil actor Salman Khan had a near death experience while shooting for his brother Arbaaz Khan's maiden production DABANNG recently.

Buzz is that the actor was shooting for a fire scene which resulted in Salman inhaling the fumes. Because of that he suffered from chest congestion and was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital in Wai, where the entire shoot was scheduled.

However, his fans can heave a sigh of relief as Salman is out of danger now & discharged from the hospital, after receiving proper medical care.

Mumbai, March 7 (IANS) The young protagonist of his film “Thanks Maa” is a Salman Khan fan and the movie has several posters of the actor as well. Now director Irfan Kamal is very keen that Salman watch his film as he is so important to the theme.

“In fact Salman plays a very important role in the film… Shams Patel’s character is a big fan and we see posters of Salman’s films like ‘Tere Naam’ and ‘Saawariya’ throughout the film. Considering how important Salman is to the theme, I badly wanted to show my film to him. But he is too busy,” said Irfan.

Irfan struggled for more than three years to put together his story of a street kid’s search for an infant’s mother. And his young lead actor won the best child artist National Award for his performance in “Thanks Maa”.

“When I wrote ‘Thanks Maa’, the first person I narrated it to was Salman. He was very excited about the film then. I don’t know what happened after that. Salman’s father Salim Khan Saab has seen the film. But not Salman,” the director said.

Shams, the lead actor, is a fan of the star in real life and he too wants Salman to watch his film.

“I play Salman’s fan in the film and I’m his biggest fan in real life. I really want him to watch the film,” Shams said.

Considering Irfan is the son of legendary choreographer Master Kamal, who made glam queens of the 1960s and 70s dance to his tunes, the least he expected was the bigwigs of the industry to take note of the film.

Trying not to sound bitter Irfan said: “I’ve knocked on every A-lister’s door in our industry. Let alone help my small film in reaching out to the audience no one has even agreed to see my film except Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar and David Dhawan.

“But it’s ok. I’m not bitter. Of course my father was a very important part of this film industry. But why should I be granted any favours because of my father? I want my film to be judged on its own merits. But for that to happen people have to watch the film,” he added.

Coming to the point, producer Sajid Nadiadwala had his birthday in February and most of his friends dropped by to wish him. However Salman, his closest buddy was shooting in Wai and couldn’t join the party. So he called Sajid and told him to drive down to the shooting spot if he wanted to get wished and also claim his birthday gift. So Sajid promptly got into a car and drove to see ‘bhai’. “I love Salman so much, I’ll drive to the moon to meet him,” says Sajid. Oh God, such devotion. But like we said, Sallu has a way with the girls and now, even the guys.

Whether it was the “Kabootar ja, ja..” song or the famous dialogue “Friendship mein, no thank you, no sorry”, Sooraj Barjatya’s Maine Pyar Kiya (1989) was a winner all the way, launching two stars — Bhagyashree and Salman Khan. Salman Khan deposes as witness in ‘Chori Chori..’ case

Mumbai, March 11 (IANS) Bollywood actor Salman Khan Thursday appeared before the Special MCOCA Court to depose as a witness in a 10-year-old case involving the movie “Chori Chori Chupke Chupke” (CCCC), his family said.
“He had given a police statement regarding the persons he had met before the making of the ‘CCCC’ movie over 10 years ago. He was called to confirm the statements before the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act today (Thursday),” his father Salim Khan told IANS.

Salim Khan said the development comes a week after Salman received his pending fees for the ‘CCCC’ movie - Rs.2.5 million.

Salman maintained before MCOCA Special Judge M.P. Kukde that the first time he met producer Nazim Rizvi was at his home when he came to discuss the movie project with him. He said he had never met Rizvi’s assistant Abdul Rahim Allahbaksh Khan before.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), in 2001, seized the prints of “Chori Chori Chupke Chupke” after it was found that funds from questionable sources were used in making the movie and the investigations pointed at the Mumbai mafia.

Well-known diamond merchant Bharat Shah, who has financed over a 100 movies, “Chori Chori Chupke Chupke” producer Rizvi and his assistant Allahbaksh and Dubai-based gangster Mohammed Shamsuddin alias Bhatija were among the accused.

The CBI contended that “Chori Chori Chupke Chupke” was produced by Rizvi and financed by Shah at the instance of absconding mafia don, Chhota Shakeel.

Following this, the court directed the court receiver to deposit the income from the movie in the government treasury till the matter was pending. Even the payment due to Salman was deposited in the government treasury.

Salman filed an application praying for the clearance of his fees for acting in the movie. As per the agreement with the producer, Salman was entitled to a payment of Rs. 15 million (Rs.1.5 crore) from Shah.

Though a part of the payment was made to Salman, in January 2009 a Mumbai court ordered the Maharashtra government to clear the actor’s pending dues of Rs.2.5 million that was finally cleared last week, Salim Khan said.

Released in March 2001, “Chori Chori Chupke Chupke” was a family drama revolving on the sensitive issue of surrogate motherhood, was mired in controversy after both Shah and Rizvi were arrested and sent to custody.

Directed by the successful director-brother duo, Abbas-Mustan Burmawala, the film starred Preity Zinta and Rani Mukerji and did reasonably well at the box office.

Salman Khan chosen as brand ambassador for Ching's
Bollywood never had it so good. Gone are the days when the hunky-dory models and good looking 'models' were a salable hot property in the glitzy world of advertising and commercials. The current trend has seen these professional models being replaced by either cricketers or films stars.

If Bollywood Hungama's sources are to be believed, then, the news is that superstar Salman Khan has been chosen as the brand ambassador for Ching's Secret noodles, for an undisclosed but astronomical sum of money. While Salman Khan will be busy promoting the said brand, readers may recall ('the irony', for obvious reasons) that it was SRK, who was promoting pasta of yet another leading brand Sunfeast.

Now, it is to be seen if Salman manages to rub his magic on the sales registers of the said brand.
