Sallu Miya at the music launch of Shadow Salman Khan is one man who loves to be in the good books of everyone. Recently, he was invited to a music launch of the forthcoming film Shadow. The film is a suspense thriller directed by Rohit Nayyar. On the event, as soon as Salman entered the premises, the media, which were present there in hordes, mobbed him immediately. Poor Sallu was shoved under his nose with every microphone present in the room Of course, all this shoving and pushing irked the temperamental Sallu miya, who got so much irritated that he thought of walking out of the music launch. The organizers had to pacify Sallu Bhai, before he could burst into a temper and stage a walkout Also, present at the occasion were the cast and crew of Shadow. Our macho man launched the audio CD and wished good luck to the film. Shadow boasts of actors like Naseer Khan, Arjun Sherawat, Milind Soman, Sonali Kulkarni and Hrishita Bhatt and is slated to release on August 7.

Media is lying Salman didn’t take a penny: Naseer Khan
August 3rd, 2009
The newly turned actor-producer Naseer Khan’s debut venture Shadow is yet to release and he is already into controversies. His association with Salman Khan has been put in a bad light by electronic media. The news channels has reported Salman to have been paid one crore to attend the music launch of the film organized last week.
Naseer puts an end to such rumours and says, “It simply pathetic on the part of media to report such a loose report. My association with Salman Khan has a history behind it. We met while we were shooting for our respective projects at filmcity. We would have a nice chat during the break, after Salman would shoot for his ad-film. And he gave me word to be of any help in future.” He goes on to add, “I have not had a good experience in the industry as far as association is concerned. So, I was little reluctant to approach Salman, even though he had promised. Salman was approached by my spokesperson and eventually on goodwill was present at the launch. I feel extremely disgusted at such a nasty remark by media.”
Salman Khan was not available for comment. However, Naseer claims similar reaction of Salman, if media approaches him on the same.

I am no Husain, says Salman Khan
Soumyadipta Banerjee / DNAWednesday, August 5, 2009 23:59 IST
Mumbai: He makes a face when he is very angry with himself. Sometimes it's his mom's, his girlfriend's, his friends' -- he takes hours scratching his drawing pencil on the canvas behind closed doors of his studio at Bandstand. Today, those "faces" are worth somewhere around Rs 6 crore.
Salman Khan wants to auction his paintings to help children with hearing disabilities. "Salman had wanted to exhibit his paintings before, but now he is open to auctioning them for physically challenged kids. We have spoken to a few people and most have agreed that the base price of each of his paintings will be Rs50 lakh," says a close friend of the star, adding that they are looking at putting up 10-12 canvases under the hammer. When we checked in with Salman, he quips, "You make it sound as if I am Picasso or Dali. I am no Husain, meri jaan. I am an actor and I only sketch when I am not doing anything. But if my efforts can help these lovely kids, then why not? I will be holding the exhibition soon. I am open to auctioning them and of course, I am not taking any money home."
Salman reveals that he decided to work for challenged kids when he met a few hearing impaired children from DEEDS, a public charitable trust.
"I have never seen such a lovely bunch of kids before. They were so excited when I was playing with them! I couldn't believe when the person accompanying them told me that they could not hear a word that I was telling them. I realised that I have been working for children before but I now need to work for challenged kids. I heard that they have a school for the deaf at Dehradun, I am sure if we join hands, there will be more such institutes in the country," Salman adds.
What about his photographs that he planned to exhibit? "You can't put up all that sh** on show. I don't think I will put that up. I have left my camera in Jodhpur. So I am not taking photographs anymore," he says.

I don't want to be a star: Salman
TNN 8 August 2009, 12:00am IST
Many feel that Salman Khan has become more patient over the years.
So, has he changed? “See everyone has lots of shades to their character. You aren’t in the best of moods all the time. When we are on the sets there are times when we get hugely pakaoed. When you are already stressed and if some one troubles you, then you can be a bit rude to them.
But we realise it the next moment and are extra sweet to them. As for the media, why I deal with them in such a manner... that’s because I don’t want to be a star,” he shrugs. Well we guess it’s difficult for anyone to look at a superstar as just another normal guy. But looks like Salman has definitely taken the chill pill.

Next, No Entry & Mr India sequels!
MEENA IYER , TNN 8 August 2009, 12:00am IST
That Boney Kapoor is releasing his much anticipated Salman Khan film Wanted around Eid this September, everyone knows.
What is a big secret in the Bollywood producer’s life is that Boney is taking his relationship with Salman further by announcing his role in No Entry-2 (with Anil Kapoor, of course) in the same week. And, his Mr India-2 as well.
Boney is reluctant to discuss the finer details of these sequels, naturally, but he is sure that wife Sridevi and brother Anil will definitely be part of Mr India-2 in some capacity or the other. BT spied on publicity designs of an invisible man (Mr India was invisible remember?) in a warm embrace with an attractive woman being readied for the launch of the sequel with the tagline “appearing soon”.
And for No Entry-2, the tagline reads — “twice as wicked”. Boney, who shares a warm camaraderie with Salman, says, “I have received fantastic distribution offers for Wanted and am confident it will fetch a better price than Ghajini, so I’m elated. I’m also happy to be sitting on a hot property like No Entry. The film is one of the biggest hits of all time and making a sequel to it with Salman and Anil is the natural thing to do.”

Gymming Around
Salman’s gym now houses his three pet dogs
By Vickey Lalwani Posted On Friday, August 07, 2009 at 02:48:30 AM
Salman Khan Despite having set up a wonderfully equipped personal gym where he lives (Galaxy Apartments, Bandra), Salman Khan has become a regular at a popular gym near his residence. And that’s because Salman’s gym has gone to the dogs, literally.
After the death of his beloved pet dog Myson, Salman adopted two dogs. Due to lack of space in his apartment, Salman has accommodated his three pet dogs in his gym. A source close to Salman reveals, “The dogs got used to living in the gym very quickly and so Salman decided he doesn’t want to shift them anywhere else. Salman loves his pets and wouldn’t want to move them elsewhere, lest it cause them any trouble.”
“Salman takes care that the gym is kept clean. But, now that the dogs have made the gym their home, it is not exactly a feasible environment for Salman for his regular exercise,” the source adds.
So for everyone at the gym who is baffled seeing Salman working out with them, the mystery’s solved.
There is no denying that the last name Khan often comes up in chatter coming out of B-town. Considering the fact that renowned Bollywood actors Aamir, Salman and Shahrukh share the last name, it makes a lot of sense.
Recently Bollywood cutie Shahid Kapoor had something to say about the Khans. "I admire the stardom SRK, Aamir and Salman have achieved and I really believe they have worked hard for it" said Shahid. Then Kapoor went on to talk about how the Khans had to face struggles and he admires actors who have gone through hardships like he has. Well Shahid has many more obstacles to face before he catches up to the status of King Khan , Aamir or Salman, but it's good to know that he appreciates acclaimed actors in his industry.
With three releases set for this year Shahid is all smiles and definitely on a path where he too can share the same professional success that the Khans have achieved. Shahid obviously hopes he is able to, but that's not enough for the young actor.
Shahid Kapoor revealed to sources that he has one desire that is yet to be fulfilled. Kapoor told sources, "I would like to work with the Khan's at some point in my career and I am keeping my fingers crossed about it." Maybe Shahid Kapoor will get his wish. If that occurs we wonder who would get to play the lead in such a dynamic group?
Well no matter what happens Shahid's statements and wish to work with Aamir, Salman and Shahrukh are very sweet. Maybe they will be heart warmed and consider working with the rising star.
Salman Khan Actor Salman Khan may be a brat, but the brat has a heart of gold, and this, we must say is proven time and time again. The actor while shooting for Boney Kapoor’s ‘Wanted’ at Bandra Fort seemed to recognize a beggar on the street. He went up to him, and asked him if he was the same person who used to sell kites at Band Stand, Bandra a long time ago. The beggar indeed was!
“Apparently, Salman Khan used to buy kites from him as a child. He hadn’t seen him for years, and now suddenly after 20 years to have spotted him in this state...,” says the source, adding, “But Salman is a very generous guy. He gave him Rs. 25,000 and bought him some food and clothes. The beggar was eternally grateful.” Salman Khan has grown up at Bandra’s Band Stand. And flying kites on the rocks wasn’t unusual for him.
The actor has always done his bit for the underprivileged. He runs his own NGO, Salman Khan Foundation, and the proceeds of all his paintings go towards social causes. “Salman Khan does a lot for children, slum children, orphans and the handicapped, but he’s the kind of guy who doesn’t like to speak about these things. He quietly does his bit for society, but unfortunately, he’s reprimanded more as the ‘Bad boy of Bollywood’ than applauded as Mr. Nice Guy!” shrugs the unit member.

Advantage of Salman
Soumyadipta Banerjee / DNA Monday, August 10, 2009 23:59 IST
Mumbai: They finally admit that they are taking advantage of Salman Khan. However, Arbaaz and Sohail Khan hasten to add that they are not taking undue advantage of him.
"You can ask Salman-bhai this. I always ask him how much he got paid for his last him film and I make it a point to pay him a few notches higher. I, of course, take advantage of my access to him because I am part of the same family. But let me tell you that there were several occasions when he (Salman) said 'no' on my face," says Sohail.
Arbaaz, who is debuting as a producer this October, has a different take on the matter. "There are only three or four bankable stars in the country right now and Salman is among them. So, I really don't have a choice. Yes, he seems to be running our production houses but that is a fact. When I decided to do the film with him, I also felt that I am giving him one of the best scripts of his career. So, I am giving him back something, isn't it?" he asks.
In spite of Arbaaz using Sohail's production office in Bandra, he says he will be shifting office to a new address soon. Why? Wasn't it easier to be business partners? Pat come the answer from both of them -- like a typical Khan, all of them headstrong and that's the best way to avert a clash of 'creative' interests.
"Going separate ways will give both of us the creative freedom. We don't have to agree with each other all the time and yet consult and seek help whenever necessary. He can make movies that appeal to him and I can make my kind of movies," says Arbaaz. And talking about independent decisions, that's exactly what Sohail has done for his next production Kisaan, where he is the hero.
"I have partnered with a pharmaceutical company and will be screening my movie in 100 villages where there are no movie theatres and in some cases, no electricity. This is for a social cause and won't be part of the marketing process," Sohail ends.

Salman's special fan passes away:sad::sad: By: Shaheen Parkar Date: 2009-08-12 Place: Mumbai
Arvind Jain, Sallu's special fan, who met the actor on his last visit, and was looking forward to his second visit, passes away
Salman Khan's London-based special fan Arvind Jain has lost his battle with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The 12-year-old, who had been battling with the ailment since birth, passed away on Sunday.
Final days On a visit to Mumbai last year, the youngster had expressed a desire to meet his screen idol 'Salman. It was on his wishlist. He was well aware that time was ticking for him. Even though Arvind landed up at the actor's Bandra home unannounced, Salman had warmly welcomed him as reported ('A dream come true'; Hitlist, January 7, 2008). [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif with Arvind Jain
It is learnt that for the past month Arvind was in hospital as his condition had deteriorated leading to several complications. Though extremely weak, he remained cheerful. He also had to have his foodpipe removed. Last week, his health took a turn for the worse and his heart stopped working. Dream come true "I could not believe it when Salman greeted me. It was a dream come true. I did not know what to tell him but he made us extremely comfortable," a bashful Arvind had said after meeting his hero. He was accompanied by his parents Mridula and Ashok Jain and elder sister Sushma. As he was confined to the wheelchair, Hindi films was a big source of comfort for him. And Salman Khan was his favourite actor.
Ask me anything! When he came face-to-face with the star, he was initially tongue-tied. But gradually and thanks to Salman being so chilled out, he could actually start a conversation with his idol. The topic of conversation was Salman's films and his paintings. The star had told Arvind he could ask him everything he wanted to know about him. Besides Salman and Katrina Kaif, Salman's sisters Alvira and Arpita, his mother Salma as well as Malaika Arora Khan were present.
Says New Delhi-based family friend Lalit Bisht, "Arvind and his family were planning to come down to India this year. Arvind had fond memories of his trip last year."
Arvind, who was confined to a wheelchair, could not stand or sit without support and spent all his life in and out of hospitals. Yet, Arvind's family wanted him to live life to the fullest.

Salman Sponsons 10 cancer pateints Much has been written and spoken about Salman Khan and his ways. But the man simply doesn't cease to amaze me.
A little birdie tells me that Salman Khan has agreed to sponsor the treatment of 10 cancer patients recently.
Apparently top doctors from the famous Tata Memorial Hospital had approached Khan to attend the World Lymphoma Awareness Day function. While last year the patients had requested Katrina Kaif to come over and spend time with them, this year Salman Khan is their preferred choice.
So Sallu has not only agreed to drop by but has also promised to sponsor the treatment of 10 patients suffering from cancer. What's more Salman has even promised to dance with them during the evening!

Salman Khan has definitely found a new friend in Ranbir Kapoor. The hunks got along well, while shooting for their films Veer and Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year, respectively at Mehboob Studios, apparently they didn’t just have a casual chat over lunch. Sources have it that Salman invited Ranbir to join him for a football match this Independence Day while they were chatting at Mehboob Studio. Ranbir, who is a huge football fan, is obviously very excited.
The actor who plans to spend the day playing football with his friends has also asked younger brothers, Arbaaz and Sohail to invite their friends. Expected to join the Khans are Ranbir, Dino Morea, Ashish Chaudhary, Vatsal Seth and music directors Sajid-Wajid. Many more people are expected to join the list. The venue of the match is still unknown but according to sources, it will be held at one of the Bandra grounds.

At 43, Salman Khan still gets beaten up by mom 17 Aug, 2009 02:35 pm IST
Salman Khan has often made headlines for getting into verbal and physical fights, but very few know that the 43-year-old Bollywood star still gets beaten up by his mother Salma.
"As a child, Salman was very naughty He used to get the most beating...still does," Salma told choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan on her soon-to-be-launched celebrity chat show "Tere Mere Beach Mein" going on air on STAR Plus Sunday.
When Farah asked "Is it just a pat?", Salman, who was the first celebrity guest for the show, said: "Are you mad or what? It comes as such a phatak (tight slap)...I reel under its heavy impact and wonder where it came from! I tell her that how can you beat me mamma, I'm a grown up man now."
Some of the actor's best kept secrets were also unravelled on the show. For instance, she revealed that she still stays up waiting for him at the window till he returns home. Salma said that all her kids tease her for this habit.
"They say that the building doesn't need a watchman with me keeping guard all night," she said.

Salman’s pet Myjaan passes away
VICKEY LALWANI , MUMBAI MIRROR 20 August 2009, 09:23am IST
After the loss of his pet dog Myson earlier this year, Salman Khan’s other beloved pet Myjaan’s death has caused him much grief...
Salman was just about getting over the death of his beloved pet Myson, who died earlier this year when he is overwhelmed with grief again by the death of his other beloved pet Myjaan. The dog passed away on Tuesday. Salman may not be as loyal to the ladies he loves, as he is to his dogs.
Myjaan had been seriously ill and Salman had admitted him at the SPCA Hospital in Parel. A friend of Salman told Mumbai Mirror, “When Myjaan passed away, Salman was shooting for London Dreams in Andheri. He quickly wrapped up the shoot and rushed home.”
Myjaan was buried in Salman’s farmhouse at Panvel on Wednesday, where Myson was buried too. After the burial, Salman returned to Mumbai to report on the sets of 10 Ka Dum.
“Myjaan’s death has come as a shock to Salman. He will take a long time to recover. He has two pet dogs now - Myson (who was named after the first pet) and Mylove,” Salman’s friend added.

Salman Khan shoots for Dus Ka Dum despite Myjaan's death
MUMBAI: Salman Khan is grieving. The actor lost his pet dog Myjaan late Tuesday night. Myjaan was keeping ill health for some time and the actor had taken it to the pet hospital in Lower Parel for treatment. Salman's personal van was kept outside the hospital so that Myjaan could have personal space. However, Myjaan finally succumbed to illness and passed away in Salman's home in Bandra.
A close friend of the actor said, "Salman lost Myson, his other dog a few months back. And the loss of Myjaan so soon is a double blow. But the actor chose to honour his work commitment and reported on the sets of Dus Ka Dum, which is so typical of him. People accuse him of not caring, but Salman understands deadlines and so he made it for the shoot."
Salman came in to RK Studios to shoot for Dus Ka Dum, which has got an extension due to its huge popularity and his interaction with fans. The actor also spent some time with people from an NGO to discuss some charity work for a cancer hospital in the north east, whilst all the time grieving his loss.
Salman, it is believed was so attached to his dogs that they were treated like his children. This loss will be felt sorely by the actor as he lives alone in his three bedroom flat, which was converted to a one bedroom flat so that they could have a free run of the house.

My show starts with Salman, ends with Shah Rukh: Farah Khan
Bollywood choreographer-director Farah Khan says it was a conscious decision to start her new television chat show with actor Salman Khan and his mother Salma, who has never given an interview before. And interestingly, the "Tere Mere Beach Mein" series ends with none other than Shah Rukh Khan.
"It was a joint decision taken by the channel and me. They felt that the episode turned out to be very candid and since Salman has never come on a chat show before, it could be a nice way to hook on the audience to the show. So we start with Salman and end it with Shah Rukh," Farah said.
She said it wasn't difficult at all to convince Salman and his mother to be her first guests on the show that starts Sunday on STAR Plus.
"Salman has never come on a chat show - neither 'Koffee With Karan' nor 'Oye! It's Friday' and not even 'Rendezvous with Simi Garewal'. It's for the first time he's come on a chat show. His mother has never in her life come on a TV show or even given a print interview. And I just had to tell them once. It was very easy to convince them to come," said Farah.

Salman Khan’s maternal grandmother (Salma Khan’s mother) passed away last evening. She was 91 years old. Salma Khan was by her mother’s side on Monday and incidentally, Salman too had visited her Mahim residence just a few hours before she breathed her last.
A source close to the Khan family said, “Salman had been to his grandmother’s house for a short while on Monday.”
In July, Salman’s grandmother was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital. Our source said, “She had been unwell for quite sometime. Last month, the doctors had advised the Khan family to take her home.”
The funeral will be held today morning at the Shivaji Park crematorium.
